Principle of four-way valve cooling and heating

Four-way valves are indispensable components in refrigeration equipment

Refrigeration

When the air conditioner is in the refrigeration state, the four-way valve is not energized, the four-way valve is in the state of AD connecting, BC connecting, the refrigerant is compressed by the compressor into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas, through the A port of the four-way valve, discharged from the D port, into the outdoor heat exchanger (condenser), in the condenser cooling exothermic into a medium-temperature, high-pressure liquid, through the expansion valve into a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid, through the indoor heat exchanger (evaporator) cooling effect, into a low-temperature, low-pressure gas, through the B port of the four-way valve, from the C port back to the compressor, then continue the cycle. After the indoor heat exchanger (evaporator) absorbs heat and exothermic effect, it turns into low temperature and low pressure gas, through the four-way valve B port, and returns to the compressor from the C port, and then continues the cycle.

Heating

When the air conditioner is in the heating state, the four-way valve is energized, the piston moves to the right, so that AB is connected, CD is connected, the refrigerant is compressed by the compressor into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas, through the A port of the four-way valve, discharged from the B port, into the indoor heat exchanger (condenser), the condenser absorbs cold and exothermic into a medium-temperature and high-pressure liquid, through the expansion valve into a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid, through the outdoor heat exchanger (evaporator). After the outdoor heat exchanger (evaporator) absorbs heat and exothermic effect, it turns into low temperature and low pressure gas, which passes through the D port of the four-way valve and returns to the compressor through the C port, and then continues to circulate.
